What’s In My Hospital Bag + PinkBlush Giveaway!

Happy Monday, friends! This week marks 36 weeks of pregnancy, which is around the time I get my hospital bag ready to go. You just never know when baby will choose to make an appearance!

So, today I am teaming up with PinkBlush to give you a peak inside my hospital bag, and also giveaway $75 for one of you to treat yourself to their amazing pregnancy or postpartum clothing! Keep on reading to learn how to enter!!

I want to start by saying that I completely overpacked for the hospital with my first baby! I’m not exaggerating when I say we needed a cart to get all of our stuff in and out of the hospital. I have NO IDEA what we were thinking! Now that it’s our third baby I am way more aware of what we realistically need and I am keeping it simple! Hopefully you feel more prepared and have an idea of what you will need of you are expecting and reading this post!

1. My own personal skincare items + essential toiletries: For me, this includes my face wash, toner, vitamin c serum, moisturizer, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and toothbrush. Washing my face and moisturizing is something I do every morning and night so this will feel like a normal part of my routine!

2. My bare essential makeup products: Tinted moisturizer, brow gel, mascara, blush and bronzer are all I plan to bring. My every day makeup routine is more involved than this, but I have brought my whole makeup bag for my first two and I barely used any of it! I really just want to have a fresh face for taking a few pictures while we’re in the hospital!

3. Nursing friendly nightgown + robe: Obviously the hospital provides hospital gowns, but having my own personal nightgown makes me feel more comfortable and at home. I recently purchased a super soft one from target, but they seem to be out of the pink striped one I own. Here is the same one in different color options! Having a robe handy is great for when visitors stop by or if you want to take a walk down the hall with the baby! My robe is old but here is a similar PinkBlush one.

4. Nursing bras: I don’t often bother with a bra in the hospital, but it’s really more for when a guest stops in, depending on who it is! I registered for this 3 pack on amazon and plan to bring one just in case.

5. Baby accessories for an introduction picture: I never even thought about this with my first two, but those first hospital pictures are so special and usually make it in the baby book! I will be bringing a baby hat, muslin swaddle, pacifier and a “hello my name is” sticker for an initial picture to share with all of you, family, friends, and stick in his baby book!

6. Cozy socks + flip flops: I personally don’t like the hospital socks, but if you do then take advantage of those! I will be bringing comfy socks over slippers because I like the fact that I can wash socks when I get home! Sometimes things get messy postpartum. I wear flip flops in the shower while in the hospital because it makes me feel more sanitary! I usually just bring a cheap pair, especially since I lost a pair after giving birth to my daughter!

7. Snacks: You can’t get food while you’re in labor at the hospital, but occasionally depending on your nurse or midwife they’ll let you sneak a bite to eat! Snacks are also really useful for dad’s or whoever will be with you. Not all hospitals provide meals for dads! Plus, hospital food kind of stinks! If you are picky or health conscious, bring your own snacks for sure! I plan on bringing bars, beef jerky, dried fruit, lactation cookies, and coconut water.

8. Essential oil diffuser: I used a diffuser with my second and it created such a pleasant atmosphere in my room while I labored and gave birth. Nurses and doctors came in and out and commented on how peaceful it was in my room and that they wanted to stay in there for the rest of the night! One of the head doctors on the floor was so impressed that she wanted to look into having them available for patients! For me it is soothing and makes me feel more at home even though I am in a hospital room working hard to bring my baby into the world! I will be bringing this cute one I recently received as a gift. (My go to oils are peace and calming or stress away from young living.)

9. Going home outfit for baby: This always becomes a sentimental item for me, and also ends up being documented in my kids’ baby books. I chose this cute romper outfit from amazon. I love the button and pocket front and the neutral gray! It comes in a couple other gender neutral colors too!

10. Going home outfit for mom: For my going home outfit I wanted to keep it comfy, but also feel cute and like myself! When I came across PinkBlush’s long sleeve button front thermal I knew it would be perfect! The thermal-like material is super soft, and the details really won me over. The raw edges on the hem give it an edgier feel, while the babydoll flow adds a feminine touch. Plus, It conceals all the right postpartum areas! The three snap button on top allow for easy nursing too! Bottom line is it checks all my boxes! The yellow color I chose is the perfect golden mustard color, and I plan on pairing it with some high waisted leggings! You can see how I styled it on a recent family outing below!

PinkBlush gifted me this adorable shirt AND is generously offering one of you a $75 gift card to pick out some stylish pieces of your own! They have everything from comfy, dressy, sleep wear, delivery robes and nursing bras to add to your hospital bag or closet! Enter on this Instagram post for your chance to win!
